Hortindex People

All credit to long standing Hort man James (Jamie) Simpson who came up with the seemingly obvious, but brilliant concept behind Hortindex!
For those of you who haven't personally met our James, he comes from a long line of horticulturalist's and in fact grew up with Multiflora operating out of the basement in his Auckland family home. Hardly surprising then that young James chose a career in our industry. After doing his time at Multiflora with Mum Sandra and Antony Toledo, James set up Quantum Landscaping in 2008. You can find our more about Quantum here (on a Hortindex Site of course!).
James found it difficult to research and source plants on line for his own landscaping business. He also needed to set up a website for his business, which was proving to be a bit of a hassle. One evening at a BBQ he had a chat to his mate Carl Fagan (the guy on the left), a software business analyst and self confessed computer Geek. Over a few beers, Hortindex was born. From idea to launch it has taken over three years of very hard graft developing just the right software for the horticultural industry. The rest they say is history. There are of course a few more players who have joined the team to keep James and Carl in line namely Eric Henry who has extensive corporate and general business experience and Lisa Powlesland from Powlesland Communications who helps communicate and market the whole package.
We wanted to help NZ horticultural businesses get online simply and cheaply.
